Harry Coumnas Conducted Scientific Experiments as Scientist on International Space Station

Harry Coumnas serves as the mission specialist where he works on space shuttles. He also trains pilots to fly shuttles and trains other mission specialists to handle the technical astronaut responsibilities. Being an astronaut, he believes that it is a fantasy for millions of people. He handles the countless tasks life which in space requires.

As a mission specialist, he provides training and support to other shuttle crews and helps assemble and test equipment. He operates the shuttle’s robot arm and leave the shuttle cabin in protective space suits to carry out extravehicular activity. Harry is highly specialized in planning missions including the activity of the crew and the management of food and drink supplies. He is also proficient in space station construction and making spacewalks. He trains hundreds of hours, using simulators that recreate the spaceflight environment.

Harry Coumnas formerly worked as scientist on the International Space Station where he conducted scientific experiments including research on human body and living in space.

Regarding his role as the planetary protection officer, he assisted in the construction of sterile spacecraft, the development of plans to protect Earth from returned extraterrestrial samples, and formulation and application of space policy as it applies to Planetary Protection.

Overall, Harry Coumnas makes his best efforts to explore more about space. He is quite well-versed with all the technologies that are developed to explore space, resulting in innovations that benefit the everyday lives.
